340 images submitted for Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition organised by Heritage Malta’s National Museum of Natural History, a first in its nature, attracted no less than 43 amateur photographers submitting over 340 images of flowers, birds, mammals, reptiles, fish and other animals.

The judges commented positively to the high quality of the photographs submitted as well as by the various species ‘’captured’’ in the images. This competition is now in its second phase, with all the photographs being judged and the winning photographs chosen according to their categories: Flora, Fauna and Marine.

Preparations are now underway for the award ceremony, which will take place in early autumn followed by a three month long exhibition of the winning photos and the runner-ups at the National Museum of Natural History.
