Another exhibition of WWII documents will be on display at St. Anne’s Chapel. Throughout the day, there will be the Malta Artisan Markets in the Casemates area while re-enactment groups will animate the site with their activities. These include the In Guardia Parade, Show of Arms, Legio X Fretensis and Battlefront.

On the day three guided tours will be held at 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs in Maltese and at 13.30hrs in English.

Fort St Elmo opens between 09.00hrs till 18.00hrs, last admission at 17.30hrs. Entrance to the fort will be from the main gate of the fort at the granaries and some areas of the fort which are normally closed will be accessible throughout the day.

The National War Museum is integrated into Fort St Elmo and houses a superb collection of items which are also interpreted technologically. The items are displayed in chronological order, with major focus on the Great Siege of 1565 and the role of Malta during the Second World War. Some of the most sought-after icons are the Gloster Sea Gladiator ‘Faith’ and Roosevelt’s Jeep ‘Husky’.

Fort St Elmo occupies a strategic position at the tip of Valletta and visitors can enjoy the splendid views of the entrance to the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour. Fort St Elmo was built as a star-shaped fort in 1552. It played an important role during the Great Siege of 1565 and during the Second World War. After the Royal Malta Artillery left the fort in 1972, the upper part was used by the Malta Police Force as a Police Academy. Recently this upper part was restored and opened to the general public in 2015.

This event is an initiative celebrating the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
