Heritage Trail – 1565: ‘A New Era’

Much has been said in the last few months about the Great Siege of 1565, but what was the aftermath like? What was its effect on European history? Heritage Malta will be attempting to shed light on this during a heritage trail on Saturday 17th October.

FSE tourThe event presents a good opportunity for everyone to visit Fort St. Elmo with the curator, who will be explaining the role of the Fort during the Great Siege of 1565. The tour will focus on the Great Siege, the fortifications and the effect of the siege on European history.

This will be followed by a coffee break, while watching the fleet participating in the Middle Sea Race sailing in and out of the Grand Harbour, from Fort St. Elmo, undoubtedly the best vantage point for such an event.Offical poster - lower resolution
