Heritage Malta, through the National Museum of Natural History, is launching a wildlife photography competition with the aim of promoting the islands’ biodiversity. This initiative is being organised in response to an ever-increasing number of wildlife photography enthusiasts.
The competition is open to all Maltese and non-Maltese individuals and is subdivided into different categories. Participants may submit up to five images per category and these must portray local plants and/or animals in their natural habitat. Both colour and monochrome photos may be submitted. Entrants to the competition must be 14 years or over on the closing date. The participation fee for this exhibition is €10 (for a total of up to 10 images submitted).
All photographs will be judged by a panel of professional or renowned wildlife photographers. The closing date for submission is the 30th of April 2017.
Following the awards ceremony at the National Museum of Natural History, to be held in September, a two month exhibition of the winning images will be held at the same museum in Mdina.
