Reduced combined admission fee for Heritage Malta museums during BIRGUFEST

Heritage Malta will be opening the Inquisitor’s Palace, the Malta Maritime Museum and Fort St Angelo during Birgufest. A combined admission fee of €2 will be offered during this weekend. Children under 12 years of age enter for free.

The Inquisitor’s Palace and the Malta Maritime Museum will open till late on Friday and Saturday. The combined ticket is valid from 17.00hrs till 23.00hrs, last admission at 22.30hrs, on Friday and from 9.00 till midnight, last admission at 23.30, on Saturday. On Sunday these two museums will open normal hours, from 9.00hrs till 17.00hrs, last admission at 16.30hrs. On Saturday a guided tour of the Inquisitor’s Palace will be held at 18.00hrs.

On Saturday and Sunday the €2 combined ticket will also include Fort St Angelo. On Saturday the fort will open from 9.00hrs till midnight, last admission at 23.30hrs, whilst on Sunday the fort will open normal hours, from 9.00hrs till 17.00hrs, last admission at 16.30hrs. On Sunday a guided curator’s tour of the fort starts at 11.00hrs. The number of participants for this tour is limited to 60 and those interested in joining the tour are advised to be on site at 10.30hrs.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit de Valette’s Armour and Fighting Sword Reunited exhibition ongoing at Fort St Angelo. For the first time in over 450 years this exhibition is bringing together number of items belonging to de Valette which were most probably used during the epic Great Siege of 1565. This comprises of three pieces of armour, a hat and a fighting sword.
