The top section of Fort St Angelo managed by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta accessible to the public
The upper part of Fort St Angelo managed by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) will be made accessible to visitors as from the first week of December, following an agreement with Heritage Malta. This part of the Fort was leased to SMOM in 1998, and subsequently restored. Till now this area was rarely open to the general public.
Access will be restricted to a series of exclusive guided tours capped at 30 participants per tour, namely:
– from Monday 5th to Friday 16th December (weekdays only with the exception of Thursday 8th): one tour daily at 11.00hrs;
– from Monday 19th December to Friday 6th January 2017 (weekdays only): two tours a day at 11.00hrs and 14.30hrs respectively.
Participants can acquire tickets from any HM museum. The limited number of tickets available will be assigned on a first come first served basis and cost €5 (adults), €3 (students and seniors), and €1.50 (children between 5 and 12).
The remaining parts of the Fort managed by Heritage Malta are open on a daily basis between 09.00hrs and 17.00hrs, last admission at 4.30pm. Entrance tickets are €8 for adults, €5 for seniors and students, and €3 for children.
Visitors can also acquire the Birgu Ticket comprising the Inquisitor’s Palace, the Malta Maritime Museum and Fort St Angelo, at the price of €13 for adults, €9 for seniors and students and €7 for children.
