The Projects Department comprises three main sections, namely Structural Projects, Estate Management and Security, and Procurement and Contracts Management.
The Structural Projects section comprises a team of (conservation) architects, project managers and support staff. Its main responsibilities include the implementation of the various capital projects undertaken by the agency, through in-house staff in the case of restoration projects, and through contractors for other major restoration, civil and infrastructural works.
The Estate Management and Security Department’s main responsibilities range from the provision of maintenance to all Heritage Malta’s sites and museums, to the management of 24/7 security on all theses sites, and the cleaning of the sites open to the public. Furthermore, the manufacturing section sets-up temporary and permanent exhibitions organised by the Agency.
All these actions, as well as other initiatives taken up by the agency, are provided technical support by the Procurement and Contracts Management Department.
The Projects Department also supports the various agency’s departments entrusted with executing EU funded projects.
